Required Experience: 8 -12 years

• Lead and oversee the monthly and quarterly financial close process, including review of journal entries, sign-off of account reconciliations, and business unit financial statement s (Insurance Industry experience Preferred)
• Support and review of deliverables from offshore teams and help provide insightful and impactful analytics 
• Identify process improvement opportunities to drive efficiencies and enhanced controls 
  Ensure timely and accurate delivery of daily, monthly and periodic processing as per business requirement 
• Strong R2R knowledge - Monthly, Quarterly & Annual Close process, GL Accounting, Journal Entries, Reconciliations, Reporting and analysis 
• Knowledge of Investment accounting like Capital contribution, Dividends, Bonus, securities, Assets accounting etc. is required
• Review of critical journal entries, reconciliations and month/quarter end activities before onshore sign off
• Consult with onshore BU Controllers, Up steam & Downstream teams during close to ensure timely completion of deliverables and escalation of issues 
• Team management skills -Provide coaching and feedback to team members to enable them to improve their performance 
• Client management - Handle escalations /queries. Drive Governance Meetings, Understand & anticipate clients’ business needs, concerns & issues, and be able to proactively resolve the same
• Partner with onshore team to support internal/ external audits  
• Legal & compliance - Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures 
• Act as a point of escalation for any operational issue 
• Conduct Periodic Performance Assessments of team members

1.  Lead and Preparation of statutory financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and all supporting schedules.) in compliance with NAIC regulations and SSAPs.
2. Review and approve the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
3. Oversee the year-end financial close process, ensuring that all reconciliations, adjustments, and journal entries are completed on time.
4. Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations, and compliance requirements that impact statutory reporting and financial filings.
5. Implement, monitor, and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial statements
6. Work closely with senior finance managers to identify areas of improvement in financial reporting processes
7. Identify opportunities for process improvements in the statutory reporting and financial closing process
8. Participate in training and development initiatives to keep up to date with changes in financial reporting standards
9. Support business units with specific financial information or report requests to aid in decision-making
10. Lead special projects or ad-hoc reporting tasks as required by senior management or external stakeholders
11. Knowledge of SOVOS reporting tool.

• Perform end to end invoice validation before payment
• Unclaimed Property / Vendor setup audits
• Deep understanding of states regulations for unclaimed property reporting
• Track aged items & perform follow-ups with business, internal stakeholders & suppliers as needed to complete the deliverables as per the established procedures
• Consistently identify and implement new ways to improve the quality of work
• Analyze and research all discrepancies / exceptions in the process
• Monitor key performance parameters of the process & to ensure adherence to SLA
• Proven work knowledge to manage payment reporting & reconciliation activities
• Coordination with multiple lines of business for any open items or account related queries or follow-ups
• Preparation of various MIS, dashboards and other BAU reports needed by Internal Stakeholders.

Qualification:

Qualification: Graduate/Masters in Accounting/CA/MBA - Finance

Required Experience: 9 - 15

• Excellent understanding of Insurance Finance and Accounting (Preferably Personal & Commercial Line) – 
• Working knowledge of Cash Application, Collection, Billing, Reconciliation. (any 2 of them would work)
• Understanding of Premium, Broker and Agency business 
• Should be able to manage a team and coach them continuously to achieve business goal. 
• To ensure complete operations management for end to end and handle any escalation w.r.t. any operational issue along with performing against all SLAs.
• To ensure timely and accurate delivery of daily, monthly, and periodic processing of client requirements and interact with a client on a day-to-day basis responding to their requirements at a short notice by re-aligning priorities.
• Provide coaching and feedback to team members to enable them to improve their performance.
• Ability to identify inefficient/ineffective processes and develops recommendations to enhance controls and efficiency.

Qualification: B. Com pass or B. Com Hons /M.com graduate/Any Finance Graduate

Ensure end-to-end operations management for Statutory Financial reporting to NAIC, disclosures, Surveys, State filings etc.

• Ownership of processes, reports, procedures or products. Subject Matter Expert with knowledge of cross-function processes
• Insurance accounting regulatory reporting experience (SSAP knowledge) preferred
• Review of critical journal entries, Main Pages, Schedules, Exhibits, Notes & GI’s before submission to onshore team
• Leadership and development of staff
• Liaison with multiple departments (Input providers) during the close to ensure timely completion of deliverables/Collaborate for special projects
• Support quarterly/annual audits by internal auditors, as-well-as, independent external auditors
